Congratulations on bringing a new member into your pack! It is important to start your new pup off on the ‘right paw’. The first six months of your dog's life is when you set the stage for the relationship you want to have with them as an adult dog. Clever Canines will help you build a relationship based on trust and respect with your puppy that will carry forward through their adult years.
Puppies and their families thrive in environments where the puppy understands boundaries and limitations. PupStart is the perfect course to begin training with your new dog! In PupStart you will learn how to establish rules and boundaries for your puppy so that they will develop into a canine companion you can take anywhere!

We do not use treats to teach your puppy to respond to you. We want you to “be the cookie” when it comes to your puppy. By this, we mean we would like there to be no greater treat for your dog than your satisfaction and praise. We want the puppy to learn to focus on you, not the treats in your hand! To achieve this we will educate you on canine psychology, body language, communication, and natural instinct, so you learn to understand your puppy. By understanding your puppy at this deeper level, you will be able to communicate to them effectively, teach them how to respond in any situation (the first time you ask), and expand your relationship beyond what you thought possible.
More information faster! PupStart is designed to get you started on training your puppy right away. Puppies develop very quickly and we want to get you the information you need as soon as possible. Each of our classes are 1.5 hours long and held twice a week to help support you through the rapid development of your growing puppy. The Clever Canines approach is designed to help you succeed in raising a calm, well-mannered dog who you will trust to go everywhere with you.
Prerequisite: Puppy must be 5 months of age or younger at time of first class (dogs older than 5 months at the start of class should consider JumpStart)
Frequency: 5 weeks long, 10 classes, either Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly, 1.5hr per class, including Seminar, and Outdoor Pack Walk
Cost: $475 (includes GST) ($325 for each additional dog from the same family.) Graduates of PupStart will receive 10% off in the next upcoming core program and early registration privileges..
